Our History

The Carbino family has sold quality jewelry and provided quality service to Northern New York for over one hundred years. Carbino's Jewelry Store was established in 1898 by David Carbino and has been family owned and operated ever since. David's son, Irving, ran the store from the late 1920's until his retirement in 1975. The store was then taken over by Irving 's son, David (named after the founder), who managed it until his retirement in 1997. Carbino's Jewelers is currently owned and operated by Gregory Carbino.

Gregory Carbino has worked in the jewelry business for over 30 years. He continues the family tradition of serving his customers and bringing the best and newest products to the area. Gregory studied diamonds at the Gemological Institute of America and believes that an educated consumer is the best kind. He has a 96% success rate with customers he has taught about diamonds because he tells them the truth and teaches them how to really compare diamonds from one store to another. With this knowledge, they can make an informed decision and understand the value Carbino's offers.

Carbino's has become part of the fabric of the North Country. We have survived adversity over the years - from the depression to urban renewal, a severe robbery in the 1980's and a fire in 2001, started by an arson, that destroyed half the block. If you ask Greg about Carbino's greatest strengths, he will tell you, "We do unto others as we would have them do unto us. We understand love and that is the business we are in. We have a true compassion for people's feelings, be that joy or sorrow, and the customer feels that. We all have jobs in life we go to every day. It's not the job you do that's important, it's how you treat the people your job brings you in contact with. We understand these important truths and value our customers".

Why Carbino's Jewelers?

We like to believe that we offer one of the best values anywhere on the web. Here is what we offer our customers...

Free cleaning and inspection for life. Every six months, you can mail your ring to us or stop by the store. We'll give your ring a thorough cleaning and inspect your stones to assure that your diamond is safe and sound.

Our diamonds come with certification. All of our loose diamonds come with accredited certifications from respectable authorities in gemology such as GIA.

We've been around the block. We've been in business for over 100 years. That gives you peace of mind that we're not here today, gone tomorrow.

We are a respected business. Our affiliations include the Independant Jewelers Organization and Gemological Institute of America.

We're a brick and mortar store. Unlike other online jewelry sites, we are a business with real people and an actual retail location. If you ever have any problems with your order, you know exactly where we can be reached.
